Meet the team
Dave Hector
Director
After 25 years with DB Breweries in an accounting/property/management role, based both in Greymouth and Nelson, Dave joined what was then Dave Powell Chartered Accountant in 1999. Dave took over the practice in May 2002 and the name was changed to Dave Hector Accounting Group Limited. Over the years, Dave has built up an excellent rapport with our clients and offers a broad based level of expertise. He leads an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff who are committed to providing an exceptional and personal service. Dave’s interests are golf, darts and bowls.

Graeme Rush
Accountant/Taxation Consultant
Graeme is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Having worked at Inland Revenue for 28 years, he has extensive knowledge of tax law and experience in conducting and supervising tax audits. He has been with the practice since 1997. When not reading tax law, Graeme is a keen musician.

Maria Dron
Accountant
Maria has been with the practice since 1998 and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Maria is originally from the Philippines and studied at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. She is based in Richmond, supplying accounting support to one of our large clients. Maria enjoys the outdoors, with flying, kayaking, gardening and photography taking up her spare time.

Lwin Tue
Accountant
Lwin, who comes from Myanmar (Burma) and was a math school teacher there, has completed her Diploma in Business at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. She is currently studying towards her Bachelor of Commerce degree. Lwin has been with the practice since 2004 and has a large number of clients, and has built up an in-depth knowledge of their businesses. Lwin unwinds from her busy days by reading.

Cheryl Jukes
Accountant/Payroll
Cheryl is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with the majority of her experience gained in the commercial area, both in New Zealand and abroad. She has been with the practice, on a part time basis, since 2007, taking on a number of clients and having involvement with client payrolls. Cheryl has two pre-school children who keep her busy, but always finds time for coffee and lunch with friends.

Rachel Flowers
Accountant/Payroll
Rachel worked for a local business for 12 years and has recently completed her Business Diploma at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. She joined Dave Hector Accounting Group in early 2009. She has quickly become part of the team and is the person who liaises with IRD and ACC for the practice, as well as having general accounting and payroll involvement. Rachel’s young boys keep her busy with their sport. She also enjoys camping, running and orienteering.

Caroline Wood
Office Administrator/P.A.
Caroline, who has been self-employed in the horticultural industry since arriving in New Zealand from Zimbabwe, joined the team in 2008 as the Office Administrator. She has a strong background in the administration and secretarial fields and is enjoying being back in an administrative position, supporting the team and as P.A. to Dave. Caroline and her husband grow flowers and tubers for export and have three children actively involved in sailing and the Air Training Corp.
